If You Face Sex Charges

Kissimmee Sex Crime Defense Lawyer

Did you know?
Lifetime sex offender registration is mandatory for anyone who is convicted of a felony sex crime in Florida, even if you are granted probation. To protect your future, contact a lawyer as soon as possible.

In Florida, a sex crime conviction is forever. Many people consider themselves lucky to plead guilty to plea deals that offer them probation, only to find out later that their lives have been changed forever by the requirements of sex offender registration.

I'm Kissimmee criminal defense attorney Richard Nick Kelley. I understand that a sex crime arrest can lead to a lot of anxiety about your future. You can contact me 24 hours a day, seven days a week for a free initial consultation about your case.

Never Talk to Police About Sex Charges Without Talking to a Lawyer

In many sex crime cases, the state may not have enough evidence to charge you with a crime without your help. For this reason, you should never talk to police officers until you have first consulted an experienced sex crimes defense lawyer. Talking to the police can only make the state's case stronger.

Over the past 30 years, I have successfully defended people charged with all types of sex crimes in Florida, including:

  • Child molestation. These charges are often based on allegations that may be pure fantasy. Often police will lie to defendants and claim that they have evidence, even though they don't.
  • Rape and statutory rape. A conviction on rape charges will usually lead to a long prison sentence and lifetime registration as a sex offender. However, the state may have weak evidence, especially in cases where the victim is known to the accused.
  • Prostitution. Many prostitution crimes result from entrapment. There may be defenses, especially if you are arrested before the act is complete.
  • Indecent exposure and public sex. In cases involving children, indecency crimes can be charged as felonies.
  • Internet sex crimes. Child pornography and chat room offenses can have serious consequences.
